Steinway & Sons 1890s Black F 54 Upright Piano with Ball & Claw Piano Stool
Please let us know if you have any questions. Antique Steinway & Sons 1890s F 54 Black Ebony Upright Piano and Antique Ball & Claw Piano Stool. One family ownership and in great condition overall. The foot peddle to the right bears some finish loss from shoes as shown. The finish is original in really good condition with some minor losses at a couple corners but as expected considering age and use. The keys are all intact with a few that are a tad sticky and the piano absolutely needs a cleaning/tuning. We have had some pianists in that have played the piano to great enjoyment, however, everyone agrees that cleaning and tuning after moving will be essential. Wurlitzer Upright Piano (1987) – Cherry Wood Finish. 1856 by Franz Rudolph Wurlitzer in New York. In 1861 Wurlitzer built a factory in Cincinnati, OH. But did not build their first piano until 1880. The Wurlitzer history dates back to the early 17th century and Hans Andreas Wurlitzer a, famous expert, violin maker. By the 1900s Wurlitzer was building vertical pianos in the Rudolph Wurlitzer Mfg. Factory at North Tonawanda, N. And grand pianos at the Wurlitzer Grand Piano Co. Factory at De Kalb, Ill. Franz Rudolph Wurlitzer died in 1914. Offices once located at 105 W. All pianos were manufactured under the trade name of Wurlitzer. The following names were controlled by Wurlitzer prior to 1937: Apollo, Julius Bauer & Co. Melville Clark, De Kalb, Farney, Kingston, Student Butterfly Clavichord, Kurtzmann, Merriam, Schaff Bros. Spinette Strad and Underwood. Wurlitzer bought the Chickering name in 1985.
