This is an Art Deco style Iron Frame, Overstrung and under damped Challen with a keyboard of 7 octaves. Challen is a well respected piano maker. This is the smaller traditional piano they made, dating to the 1940’s. This model of piano was famously used by the Beatles in Abbey Road studios. If you search ” beatles and Challen piano” you will find out all about it.. The case is a mahogany finish, the casework does have some marks and shows signs of use. It has just been serviced, regulated, voiced and tuned to concert Pitch (A440) and suitable for a beginner to do a few grades. We can provide a WhatsApp video if you find us via the old fashioned’blower. It has a f ull tone on all the strings and a positive firm touch. Height 1.10 metres – 43. Width 1.34 metres – 53. This is a Challen 988 modern piano in Mahogany Case. Iron frame, overstrung and underdamped. A professional pianists piano. It has been serviced, regulated and tuned to concert pitch (A440) – Will take a beginner through all their grades and make a good piano for a student etc. The reason for the low price is there are a couple of minor cosmetic blemishes on the casework.
