1910 Ellington Upright Grand Piano Serial Number 29098
This piano is a great instrument and needs to go to a loving home. It could obviously use a restoration and a tuning. It’s been through several cross country moves and I can assure you it’s extremely solid and probably weighs close to 1000lbs. The lower panel in the first picture is just removed for the photo. The Ellington Piano Company went out of business during The Great Depression and was bought out by Baldwin from what I can find. I’m willing to deliver it within 700mi from Austin, TX or farther for a negotiable, reasonable, greater price.

Weber Pianola Duo Art Grand Piano/Orchestrelle Co London
Weber 5’10 inch Duo Art player grand. Truly a vintage player grand from the turn of the century (date is estimated at 1912 but not precise). Comes with an external motor that can be wired into another room so you don’t hear it while playing. Unusual that you can also foot pump it to play and have and external motor (most players from this vintage don’t have that features). The finish looks nice but, has some noticeable defects and veneer work is needed. My refinisher said the finish looked like sapellie but I can’t guarantee that. You be your own judge. I can arrange a moving to most places in the continental US. This is truly an amazing piano from a far gone era. Probably a museum piece. Krakauer Brothers was founded in 1869 by Simon Krakauer, his son David and his brother Julius in New York City. Krakauer was well known for building superior quality pianos in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Krakauer put a great deal of thought and effort in the design and construction of their instruments and the result was a superior piano of excellent tone quality. In 1917 Krakauer incorporated The Madison Piano Company, building Madison brand of pianos for several decades. Krakauer gained control of the large Haddorff Piano Company in the 1920s. Haddorff’s extensive manufacturing operations gave Krakauer the ability to substantially increase production. Because of their superior quality, Krakauer Brothers was one of the few American Piano Companies to survive the Great Depression without being absorbed into a larger conglomerate like Aeolian-American, etc. Kimball only produced the Krakauer name for a few years before Kimball went out of business in about 1986.
