W = 5′ + 1.75” / D = 2′ + 3.33” / H = 4′ + 8.5′. This antique Newby and Evans piano is a beautiful example of an upscale American Victorian upright piano of the late 19th century. It was built by Newby and Evans sometime between the 1880s to 1890s, and is made of beautiful carved solid mahogany wood. Note the beautiful carved Victorian details throughout. This Newby and Evans piano has been totally restored and is in very-good to excellent condition. It plays and looks fabulous with a distinct sound quality that can only come from a vintage instrument of its stature–truly a late 19th century antique classic brought back to life. I can provide a short video of the piano being played upon request so you can get a general idea of its sound–as much as video sound quality is capable of reproducing that is. It has hardly ever been played in all these years and has functioned mostly as a large display and conversation piece in the home. There is only one issue with the playing functionality in that one of the black keys in the higher tone register of the keyboard produces no tone when struck so this will need to be fixed for fully playability. Also, there are a few small aesthetic imperfections on this piece–small and subtle varnish layer scraps here and there, a small crack in the thin varnish layer of the wood on the lid etc. Clearly my price represents an excellent value. The price for moving this piano will vary greatly depending on where you live and the degree of difficulty of the move to your home. For example if you live in a old condo on the 5th floor without an elevator it will cost a lot more to move than if you live in a house and want the piano on the ground floor. I know of a very good local and nationwide piano moving company. In the case of out of state moving there is only 1 company that is trustworthy to do the job that I know of.
