A VERY rare find! Located here in Athens Georgia at Vics Vintage we have a…… Mission / Golden / Quartersawn Oak. Ex-player’ / Upright Piano. Expertly crafted early in the 1900’s, this piano was extremely well-maintained throughout its entire life. We have discovered that this was initially a’player’ piano and was converted into a regular piano. We removed the upper panel and could see that that panel was the’opening’ for the player. To assist you in the investigation of the original year this piano was made, there are two serial numbers. There is a number on the harp itself – it is’ 9002. There is a number (3 times) on the rear of the upper panel – it is 11586. After living most of its life in South Dakota, this piano was driven to Athens (same original family) were it resides today. Properly tuned (its last official tuning was in the 80’s) this piano will continue to produce wonderful sounds for many more years! This fine example of acoustic and aesthetic craftsmanship is located here at Vics Vintage, 768 West Broad st in downtown Athens Georgia – 30601. The piano will need to be tuned as it has not been played in several years. It is a Piano. It IS Heavy. So please look into what it would take to actually become a part of your collection.
