Antique 1920s Upright C. Kurtzmann & Co. Piano
This piece was made in the early 1920s by C. Kurtzmann & Company was established by Christian Kurtzmann in Buffalo, NY in 1848. The Wurlitzer Piano Company took control of Kurtzmann in 1935 and built the Kurtzmann brand name until 1938. Kurtzmann was known for building very high quality, expensive pianos, and organs, and their instruments were often very elaborate and sometimes “overbuilt”. These instruments are truly amazing examples of old-world quality and craftsmanship. The piano interior is in original unrestored condition with the old strings. The wooden storage stool is not original to the piano but is included in the price. The piano appears to be made of imported Honduran Mahogany wood under the old deteriorated finish and is of the Edwardian style. Measures: piano 61.5 in. L x 27 in. D x 55 in. H, bench 36 in. L x 15 in. D x 21 in. Very heavy and bulky. Please bring help to load. Located in our basement with easy access to yard and driveway.
