Originally owned privately in Japan these special model U3’s were never imported by Yamaha Corporation of America. They only import standard polished ebony “U” Series. In Japan you can find many different variations of the U3 and all are the more expensive versions featuring “exotic” woods which are not veneers but solid wood. They are very rarely played so much to exhibit wear which is the case with this piano.
