This Antique Steinweg piano was built in Germany in 1883 by one of the Steinway brothers. The one who stayed in Germany and didnt change his name to Steinway to be exact. It was acquired by Jacco Gardner about four years ago and has been used for writing and recording in most of his work at the Shadow Shoppe studio in Zwaag. The piano is in great fully functional condition, especially considering the adventurous history it has, and can be played and recorded as is, but to get it in perfect playing condition the hammers may need replacement. It has been tuned to perfection by a piano tuner three times in the last years. One string was replaced after it snapped in the tuning process. The plate is not bent and the tuning pins and ivory keys are all in good condition. It has served well as a studio piano but would be good in a living room as well.
