Upright Victorian Piano With Dragons Carved on the Front
This is a beautiful Victorian era upright piano. Manufactured by the Cable Piano Company of Kingsbury, Chicago in approximately 1910. In great condition, everything works and comes with a matching glass, claw-footed stool. When we got it in 1973, it was painted black with about 10 coats of paint underneath. The finish and the keys have all been refurbished. The internal component is extremely heavy; made of brass as you can see from the pictures. Antique 1894 Upright Kimball Piano and stool- Mission Oak with Carved Detail
This piano has a very rich history. It was manufactured in Chicago and spent the first years of it life playing for silent films until 1906 when it was moved to Boulder Colorado to the Curran Opera House, where it spent the next era of it’s life playing for silent films, musicals and operas. In the mid 1920’s, the theater retired the silent film program when it adopted the “Talkies” and the piano was given to the pianist as a gift for her retirement. The piano ended up in Phoenix, Arizona in the late 80’s and was acquired by me August 29, 1992. There are 3 chipped keys. No one in our family ever played it, so no guarantee of it being in tune. There is a stool included with the dimensions of. 18″W x 18″D x 20H.
