The Baldwin Acrosonic has been a staple in the music industry for decades and is one of the most recognizable and familiar models ever built. Spinet pianos were very popular in American homes, especially from the 1930s to the 1980s. They were an entry-level instrument, more affordable and less daunting than a full upright. Cunningham UP-123 (Pre-Owned) in Satin Mahogany. Made in 2010 in China. Comes with Matching Bench. The Pianos of Princeton. Every piano is brought up to A-440 Concert Pitch. Pin block is tested for weakness and tuning stability. The piano harp is cleaned, inspected and checked for cracks, splitting and pitting. Piano Keys are removed, cleaned along with the key bed and are re-installed, leveled, lubricated and balanced. Sound Board checked for rattling ribs, openings, crown loss, cracks and cleaned. Strings are checked for strength, stability and replaced if warranted. The outer cabinet is cleaned, detailed and depending on instrument re conditioned. Pedals and string dampers are checked for accuracy and adjusted if needed. Hammers are inspected, reshaped or replaced if needed. 1947 Baldwin Acrosonic Piano with Matching Bench
I’m not a piano expert so take that into account. I did have a piano tuner-expert stop-by and he gave it a quick once-over, played some scales, and said he nothing especially wrong with it but the soft action was due to it sitting un-used for decades. I understand the soundboard is a critical matter, so, following some YouTube advice, I had a friend shine a flashlight from the front of the soundboard and I saw no light coming through from the string-side. I don’t see any cracking at the bridge or ribs and the tone is clear with no tell-tale’kazoo’ effect. Some of the keys have chipped ivory. I have dated the piano from the serial number – 392211 – to be late 1947. Apart from the functional evaluation above. I do not, as a general rule, offer up my opinion on condition. I allow the photos here to provide the facts. I see no complications with the removal at this location. The piano is on the first floor level to the driveway.
