This is an unusually good condition working Boyd of London Pianola, Player Piano. It plays well as a piano and capable of getting someone up a few grades but best of all it has had one owner for the last 56 years where is was kept in a cool dark area under a large stairway and only occasionally used. It is overstrung, underdamped and just been tuned to concert pitch – It comes with a large Box of Rolls, some of them song rolls, with the words on them which makes this Pianola a Kareoke machine! Dimensions, this is a small pianola, no different than a traditional upright except about 4 inches deeper ie. Away from the wall to accomodate the Pianola mechanism. Width 60 Inches – 1.52 m. Depth 27 Inches – 0.68 m. Height 49 Inches – 1.24 m. You can see this pianola on Youtube here : Boyd Pianola Player Piano. Because this is a Pianola any potential purchaser must be prepared to take the front off and occasionally. Tinker with the mechanism. Pedals, levers and chains need oiling, the tracker bar needs dust extraction the odd pipe may need replacing etc. In fact most Piano Dealers don’t touch them with Barge Pole. Lest to say its one of the best preserved, original condition Pianolas I have seen in 32 years of piano dealing and as such it should go on for many years yet with a good home.
