This Kawai model KG-2A grand piano at 5’10 in length plays expressively, accurately and smoothly. The KG-series of pianos were very popular for Kawai in the US and Canada. Built in their main factory in Hamamatsu, Japan, the KG-series was later re-branded as the top-of-the-line RX-series. This piano’s tone is European-inspired and mellow. The duration of tone (“sustain”) is lengthy and tends to be preferred by classical musicians. The treble has a clear, bell-like singing quality, and the full, lush bass response is satisfyingly excellent. The middle pedal has a true sostenuto function. This is a pre-owned piano.
