SALE Baldwin SD-6 Concert Grand Piano Satin Ebony 9ft Concert Grand Piano

Pristine Baldwin SD-6 Concert Grand. Originally built in 1948. Case was completely stripped and refinished in Satin Ebony. Plate was completely stripped and refinished. New felt and keytops. New pins and pinblock. Large concert stage casters added. New Steinway hammers and Steinway strings give this instrument a tone that is more related to a Steinway D… More refined and sweeter than a typical Baldwin. The midrange is broad and rich in complex inner harmonics. The top end is sweet and lyrical. The bass is golden toned and sounds larger the lower you go. It was voiced up in the low bass for a bit more weight and thunder. The bottom note is the largest and most resonant. This can be undone if you prefer a lighter, lyric baritone type of bass. The instrument is great for classical, but excels at more brooding works from Baroque to Brahms or Rachmaninoff. And crunchy jazz chords are loaded with vibrance because of the midrange. Action is medium and buttery smooth with a shallower key fall than typical newer grands.

SALE Grotrian-Steinweg Grand Piano

Over 14 Million Views on YouTube: Living Pianos Official YouTube Channel. Grotrian-Steinweg goes back to the mid 1800’s. Frederich Grotrian joined Theodor Steinweg (son of Heinrich Steinweg) to manufacture pianos. Heinrich moved to New York and changed his name to Henry, and changed Steinweg to Steinway. The rest is history! Both piano companies have been producing world-class instruments over centuries. Grotrian-Steinweg is produced in Germany, and Steinway is produced both in Germany and New York. This is an extraordinary piano with a gorgeous rosewood polish finish. The wood grain is breathtaking. The hand-carvings of the case are also a lost art. The piano also has rare one piece ivory keytops in immaculate condition. The sound of this instrument is pure and warm. There is a richness and evenness of tone throughout all registers that is the result of one of the world’s great piano scale designs. The soundboard has visible seams and has excellent crown with solid connection to all the ribs. This is the heart and soul of the piano which is what gives this instrument its unique sound. The German action is on a world-class level of performance. The piano is all original and shows extremely minor wear anywhere inside or out! This is truly a piano find for someone who appreciates the finest pianos available at any price. Incidentally, Steinway sued Grotrian-Steinweg and won! However, in the rest of the world, they still go by their original name, Grotrian-Steinweg. See More of my Used Pianos for Sale. All Pianos include a matching bench.
