This is Hickie Iron Frame, Straight Strung Cottage Piano with a keyboard of 6 octaves. This is quite an unusual samall size and makes it easy to put this piano upstairs or in any small space. You could describe this as a Ships Piano. This is a good example of a traditional English made piano. The case work is in clean original condition. It has just been serviced, regulated and tuned and suitable for a beginner or just for general playing. It is capable of getting someone up a few grades but because of the 6 Octaves they would have to change it after about grade 4. It has a f ull tone on all the strings and a positive firm touch. Beautiful Steinway upright Grand Piano built in 1881, manufactured in New York. Professional restoration was done about 20 years ago; all 88 keys have been replaced. Exterior glossy black finish has minor scratches. The sustain pedal is broken but I have it on site. Piano was tuned and cleaned in 2011. It is Iron framed, Overstrung and underdamped. It came from a pet and smoke free home. If you look at the condition of the hammers and the action in general it looks as if it has hardly been used. This is a nice Murdoch. It is a Traditional, straight strung iron framed piano with a full keyboard of 7 Octaves. Unusually a nice compact size for a full keyboard piano. This piano is in really good original condition having been in the same house for many years and not used much. There are a few minor marks on the casework but it still has a nice shine. This Piano and has been the subject to a recent thorough Service. It has been regulated and tuned to concert Pitch A440 – All the notes, pedals etc. Work as they should and have been checked and adjusted.
