This Kawai BS-40 upright piano is a whopping 52 in height and is finished in glowing ebony polish. One of the best uprights ever made, it will embarrass most small grand pianos. Completely built in Japan in 1987 by Kawais senior technicians, no expense was spared during its construction. Lean into it and it is loud and powerful as a cannon shot, back off and it sings with an angel’s gossamer wings. This is the upright for someone who wants the richness and volume of a grand piano but just doesn’t have the room for one. Just back from our shop where it received a full action regulation, voicing and tuning job, our tuners couldnt seem to be able to stop themselves from playing it, it really is that nice. Includes a brand new adjustable artist bench. The ebony polish finish has been rubbed out by hand and has nary a mark on it. Very rare and hard to find in this condition, it is one big, bad tone monster. NOT for the faint of heart!
