Steinway Model “40” Console 42 Upright Piano in Walnut Mfg 1965 in USA w/bench. I have all or the original paperwork for it. It has been kept in a temperature controlled home it’s entire life. In spite of 9 years of piano lessons lasting from the time that I was 6 until 15, I’ve had to make peace with the idea that I’m not going to begin playing it again, and lugging a piano about is not as simple as moving a bookcase or a desk. The only flaw that I can find is the “water ring” on the upper left. I have included a photo. My recollection is the bench has been recovered as well. It could be recovered again, but is perfectly fine, though not perfect. It don’t have details about rates, etc. At this point in time though, but I’m sure it can be worked out. The case is in Burr Walnut, with Sconces (Candle sticks). You maybe interested to know this piano is 130 years old and still keeps is fantastic sound. Due to it’s age it will not be suitable for a budding Rachmaninoff who wishes to bash it for 4 hours a day but it is perfectly suitable for someone who wishes to get to grade 3 or 4 and will work fine for many years with the occasional tuning and tweak. It has a full keyboard of 7 Octaves, the keys are made of the original’bone’ like substance and in very good condition. It has been in the same family for 60 years. It has just been serviced, regulated, voiced and tuned to concert Pitch (A440) and suitable for a beginner or good pianist alike. It has a fantastic full sound, a deep Bass and and a very clear treble and a positive firm touch. There are a couple of minor blemishes on the casework in keeping with it’s age.
