Vtg. Upright piano made in Europe in 1930’s
Piano dimensions: ht 53 depth 28 width 57. Weight between 500 and 800 lb? Stool dimensions: diameter 15, ht 20 to at least 27. Own a piece of history. This piano was built by the fabulous and notorious Wilhelm. Willie Jähne who, together with Bruno Sommerfeld, emigrated from Germany to the historic city of Bydgoszcz in Poland, where he established a piano-manufacturing factory. The piano was awarded Gold Medals at the exhibition of Eastern Faires in Lvow, Westen Ukraine (1927) and in Katowice (Poland), 1928. Known for its high quality, it is a solid hallmark. Attached music holder is 28 1/2″ wide x 7 3/4″ tall. Top shelf of piano makes a wonderful display shelf… And is 59″ long x 8 1/2″ wide. Piano has 2 post legs in front. Piano is 33 1/2″ tall in front & 37 1/2″ tall in back. Bench has 4 post legs. There are 88 piano keys… 52 white, 36 black. There are 3 antique brass foot pedals. I used to play this when I was younger, but very very rarely over the last several years. Time for someone else to enjoy. Normal wear from normal usage. Piano bench has one leg chewed by one of my puppies many years ago (see photo). 1891 Hazelton Brothers, New York Upright Piano 18168. It is in very good condition, with just a few surface chips on the top. It has not been played for a while, and needs to be tuned. Approximately 57″ high x 61″ wide x 29 deep. In 1840 Henry and Fredrick established F & H Hazelton, renaming it Hazelton Brothers when their brother John joined the firm. They built a large selection of square grand pianos, uprights, and baby grands during the 19th Century. After 1880 they decreased production of square grand pianos, adding several lines of higher end player pianos and reproducing grand player pianos.
