Everett Grand Piano
Downsizing – this piano needs a new home. Piano was made in 1905 by the Everett Piano Company. The Everett piano dealer in downtown Augusta, Ga. In the early 1900s. It is unknown who owned the piano for the first fifty years, but we do know it was owned by a local Augusta, Ga. Piano teacher, Sidney A. The piano was refurbished with new hammers, felts, etc. In the early 1970s by now-deceased piano technician, Claude Scherrer. It is believed that Liberace played the piano in the 1960s at the home of Mr. Richardson when he was in Augusta to play a concert in Augusta’s Bell Auditorium. This folk-lore is unconfirmed, though my mother is somewhat certain she remembers this being told to her by Mr. The piano has been tuned annually since the 1950s. It is on a concert-grand dolly.
