Professionally Rebuilt and Restored Gibson Orchestral Grand Upright Piano
This vintage orchestral grand upright piano is in excellent condition. It was manufactured in New York for the theater district and was originally used in an orchestra pit. It has a hand-painted cast iron sound board and is basically a grand piano in an upright position. There is no piano bench unfortunately. I love this piano and I’m sad to see it go. My hope is that it goes to a good home. It is in need of a tuning, but otherwise sounds amazing and fills the room with sound. Antique FRANCIS BACON Small CHILD’S PIANO & BENCH Restored Local Pickup
Antique Francis Bacon child’s piano (small piano), measuring just over 22″ deep x 38-1/2″ wide x almost 40 high. Piano and bench were restored in 1999 by a man who specialized in antique piano restoration. It was used very little following restoration. We have not found any serial number yet, but we will update this listing if we find one. Based on markings inside piano, this piano dates from 1876 U. There are 58 keys total (white and black). This piano seems to be a rare piece. We cannot locate another like it. Cabinet/wood on piano and bench appears to have been refinished. One area of wood on top toward back (right) is slightly raised. There is slight damage to a few keys (see photos). Piano has been on interior wall in heated/cooled house (only) since restoration, but is out of tune. All keys (white & black) play. One or two keys may sound odd. Some slight repair may be needed in addition to tuning. Pedals seem to work fine. Professional piano mover is recommended. This is a beautiful, restored 1886 Steinway and Sons 53 1/2. It has been restored twenty years ago; so it plays beautifully. Original Ebony Keys, white non-original ivory keys. It is a very impressive piece; don’t make’em like they used to. It has spent the last 30 years in Colorado, resting quietly in the living room. Rarely being used has preserved this masterpiece and makes a timeless statement in any room. Can be played immediately, but eventually you would want to get it tuned.
