Dieser Broadwood- Flügel stammt aus der umfangreichen Pianosammlung des Conservatoire de Musique Superieur de Paris. John Broadwood war zusammen mit dem Engländer Robert Wornum der erste Klavierbauer, dessen Werkstatt sich zur Fabrik wandelte, wo eine tayloristische Arbeitsteilung die Abkehr von handwerklichen Prinzipien des Instrumentenbaus und eine massive Senkung der Fertigungskosten erzielte. Sein Werk markiert den Anbeginn industriellen Klavierbaus. Bedeutsam ist das Werk John Broadwoods und seiner englischen Zeitgenossen auch insofern, als ihre Instrumente der Mechanik mit Stößeln, wie sie schon Bartolomeo Cristofori anfangs nutzte, gegen die süddeutsche oder Wiener Mechanik (Prellmechanik) zum langfristigen Durchbruch verhalfen wenn auch zur Zeit Broadwoods die englische Repetition noch nicht vollkommen war, was erst in den 1820er Jahren Sébastien Érard in Paris gelang. Die Arbeiten von Broadwood zeigten auf, dass Flügel mit Stößelmechanik lauter sein konnten als Wiener Flügel und damit ein immer mehr wachsendes bürgerliches Publikum in immer größeren Konzertsälen erfreuen konnten ein Vorzug, der auch Ludwig van Beethoven in seiner fortschreitenden Ertaubung veranlasste, einen Broadwood-Flügel als Geschenk freudig anzunehmen. Hammerflügel von John Broadwood zählten zu ihrer Zeit zu den Spitzenprodukten des Tasteninstrumentenbaus. Zuvor galt dies für Cembalos der Antwerpener Instrumentenbauerfamilie Ruckers und für Hammerklaviere des süddeutschen Instrumentenbauers Johann Andreas Stein , nach Broadwood dann für den österreichisch-französischen Hersteller Ignace Joseph Pleyel und den deutsch-französischen Instrumentenbauer Sébastien Érard , sowie seit Ende des 19. Kohler & Campbell Piano GUC
This offer is for a Kohler and Campbell console piano. I have 3 pianos and that is one too many. All keys are intact and have good action. Music stand leans, mount broke off but works to hold music it has some light scuffs but all of these are hardly noticeable. I would place this in A- condition overall. Matching original Bench is in good condition. This is made in America before the sale. I have another Kohler and Campbell from 1968 and it is still grand and holds a tune forever. This piano has always been well cared for by music and piano lovers. It had always been in a smoke free environment. Task Rabbit is one that may be helpful. Brinsmead Overstrung Piano in Rosewood Reconditioned, including Local Delivery
The case is of Rosewood, inlaid with boxwood banding, retaining it’s original sconces. This piano was subject to a professional restoration a few years ago, lightly used since. It has a full iron frame. It is Overstrung and Underdamped with a full keyboard of 7 Octaves. This is a good example of one of the best quality English made pianos. Brinsmead were often referred to as the British Bechstein. This example dates to Circa 1910, the height of the British Empire, often quoted as the best era of piano manufacturing. After the World War I many skilled craftsmen were lost in the fighting and the quality woods used in manufacture was used as pit props in the trenches, pianos were never the same again. The key covers are the original bone type used with the better make of pianos…… The reconditioning involved a complete case re-polish, re string, new tuning pins, new damper felts and springs – New Abel Hammers. It has just been serviced, regulated and voiced and tuned to concert Pitch (A440) and suitable for a beginner or good pianist alike. It has a great sound, full tone on all the strings and a positive firm touch. There are a couple of minor blemishes on the casework in keeping with it having been used for a few years since the case was refurbished. Height 1.34 metres – 52. Width 1.45 metres – 57. Depth (away from the wall at keyboard height) 66 cm – 26. You are welcome to come and play this piano or have it demonstrated in South Brent, Devon. Great Baldwin Acoustic Upright Piano. Excellent condition, action feels like a 7′ Grand. Comes with practice pedal (puts felt between hammer and strings to muffle sound to not disturb family or neighbors). Perfect for the beginner or a serious pianist. 1908 Steinway Upright Grand Piano String Frame with Bench
Lovely 1908 Steinway Upright Piano and original bench. Needs tuning but “as is” goes for lower price. Has one sticky/dead key, but otherwise sounds nice. Pedals add rich vibration to chords. Bench has underseat storage compartment. Acquired by private sale in 2001 intended for children to learn the piano, the children are now grown and it’s barely been touched except to noodle and goof around.
