Steinertone Rebuilt 9’4 Concert Grand Piano #12031
In 1905, the revolutionary Model CC was the largest, longest, widest, heaviest and arguably the finest piano in the world! This rare piano is part of the very first pair of 18 crafted. Only 18 Model CC 9’4? Concert Grand Pianos were built between 1905 and 1912 by Mason & Hamlin Co. They were produced in 9 identical pairs: one saying “Mason & Hamlin” over the keys, and the other saying “Steinertone” (since this was a joint venture between Mason & Hamlin and the Steiner Piano Company). It was ordered by Mr. Rockefeller himself at the turn of the century in the year of 1891, sent to a famous turn of the century custom cabinet maker in NYC by the name of Joseph Cabus and after 2 months was delivered to his home in upstate NY. Piano is encased in stunning Flame satinwood veneer and has a custom made case which includes carved cherubs on the arms, carved cabinetry on legs, lyre and music rack. There really is no tangible value of price we can attach to this magnificent instrument and its history as there is really nothing we can compare it to? This one was owned and ordered bought NEW from Steinway for the richest man ever to live, it was not bought at a later date in time by Mr Rockefeller rather on the actual orders from Steinway its states that it was ordered by Mr. Rockefeller and that it was sent to a famous artisan to customize the case and. Any famous rare steinway Ive ever seen (and there are not many ever made) from the turn of the century was usually a model A or B but not a concert grand model D. In general I’ve rarely ever seen art case model D’s and definitely never seen such a rare custom art case model D owned by someone as famous as JOHN D. Original Owner Excellent Condition Baldwin Concert Vertical Upright B252 Piano
Original Owner, Excellent Condition, Recently Tuned, Black Baldwin B252 Concert Vertical Piano. In original location, never been moved. Only used by adult Church Professional Pianist to practice for Church Services and Home entertainment. Includes original Baldwin bench. Serial Number shown, made in USA around 1987, 1988. (Baldwin Pianos made since 2008 made in China). The B252 version is derived from the larger 6000 Concert Vertical upright. This is one of the tallest upright pianos on the market. It was meant to compete directly with the Steinway K52 in size and price. It has a real working center pedal, similar to the grand piano. Most of the other upright makers have a center pedal mute and not an actual working musical pedal. This piano features the patented “Tone Extender”. It makes the bass on this sustain like a Grand Piano. The Accu-Just Hitch Pins Baldwin uses on the bass section of all of their pianos are found on this piano, but this one has bearings on every single note.
